now timey

Were you on myspace streaming (and, er, ripping) the new Rapture "Get Yourself Into It" all long weekend? No? Well get to it! Es goood.

And now, on a totally unrelated note, here's your new favorite thing that doesn't sound like anything else. Milwaukee band The Scarring Party's got the instrumental variety and individuality of DeVotchKa, but that's my only comparison. I might call it old timey, they might correct me with "end timey". Here's how they describe their album A Concise Introduction:

A macabre fusion of syncopated tuba and bass, unorthodox percussive flourishes, staccato accordions and spider-climbing banjo melodies.
But really, you have no idea until you hear it. You can download the catchy "No More Room" and "Eat Your Young" on both their myspace and their website, and purchase the album while you're at it.

I guess it's remix Tuesday tomorrow?

Have you heard The Knife - Silent Shout (Williams Acidic Circuits Remix)?

More to the point, have you got it?? Or even just the original version?
