What we lose with shorter days we often regain with a surge in social gatherings. From Thanksgiving dinners to a wide variety of holiday parties, this inward season tends to pull us towards our people, and thankfully so, we might add.
Yet, far too often, we gather in principle, not in purpose.

We all know that annual dinner with friends or the party with our 200 extended relatives where we go through the motions of convening, talking, eating, maybe even playing some games, but we leave wondering....
What was that for? Did I deepen any relationships or just regurgitate superficial updates? Did I meet anyone new, try anything new, learn anything new?
Most importantly, did I create any new experiences or memories that deepen the relationships that matter?
In our experience, magic rarely just happens. It requires you, the host, to weave purpose into every stage of your gathering by asking a simple question at the start - when this experience is over, how do I want my people to feel about our purpose? This year, what do we need? To laugh? To learn? To build new memories?
Gathering in principle is the who, where, when - our family has an annual holiday party...
Gathering in purpose is the why? - our family needs to laugh really hard together because we're divided politically and we need to remember what connects us.
Clearly defining your purpose will inform everything about the design and flow of your moment. This Holiday Season, our hope for our community is to support you as you pioneer gatherings built in purpose.
Whether on our shore or in your home, we're committed to be a canvas for connection all season long. From guided sauna circuits to our Black Friday Yoga Fest along with musical surprises in the yurt to holding space for your family, team, or group holiday party, our purpose is simple - to expand the way you think about your inner and outer landscape.

Alt Black Friday Returns!
Rebellion is in the air this year. Old dying systems gasping for one last breath have shown that not all things ought to last forever. So this year, we’ve never been more excited to welcome back our 7th annual rejection of consumerism in favor of community with Alt Black Friday, A Wellness Day, on Nov 27th.
Every year, one bizarre corporate hijack of our culture tends to be the day after Thanksgiving. You know, where the natural response to gratitude, plenty & abundance is 4 AM traffic & checkout lines to buy stuff you can’t afford with money you don’t have for people who don’t need it.
Sure, is Thanksgiving already mildly fraught with its own contradictions? Yes. But when our complex history gets mashed up with potatoes, gravy, family & gratitude, we’ll take it.
It’s the day after that deserves some push back. Your gratitude owes nothing to the big box balance sheets & their never ending appetite to be in the black.

Born out of the obvious truth that shopping for stuff is never a path to wellness, we’ve dedicated this day to rest, connection & stillness through through movement, music, & the opposite of consumption - contribution.
Over the years, we’ve donated tens of thousands of dollars to causes along our watershed - from the Shoshone Cultural & Interpretive Center to efforts addressing mental health, our Great Salt Lake, & even efforts to prevent a dam along the Bear.
This year, a portion of your participation fuels our fund to support NGO’s, low-income guests, & community causes throughout the year.
If lines, crowds, consumerism & chaos don’t sound conducive to your wellbeing, come join us for a soak during a day of doing good & feeling better. From fireside yurt yoga to riverfront aquatic flows along with breath work, guided sauna circuits, patio pizza, community polar plunges & an evening meditation, this is your invitation to ditch consumerism & discover connection.
Tickets available in our profile or calendar.
Half Day Pass (AM/PM) - $45
All Day Pass - $65
Evening Soak & Fireside Meditation - $35

New Year, same you. But which you? Join us on Jan 23rd as we jump start our systems through the return of an expanded, yet beloved Be Well Workshop - The Science & Soul of Contrast Therapy. Using ones mind, breath, and body to lean in to our wild nature while confronting natures harsh conditions is perhaps the most under utilized tool for self discovery.
Under the training of certified instructor Shelley alongside the musical gifts of Billy, this one day workshop will introduce participants to the methodology and practice of this technique to promote a healthy nervous system and strengthen your cardiovascular muscles all while experiencing the power of music, movement, storytelling, and more.
Meals, soaking, and optional overnight packages are certainly a new way to gather.
