Guilty Pleasure Wednesday

I just realized it's been a week so I can reprise the guilty pleasure theme as an excuse to share this. I can't help loving that ubiquitous Katy Perry song "I Kissed a Girl". I mean, it's just so catchy! So, what a pleasure it was to receive the also very enjoyable, groovy cover from the adorable Max Vernon. Adjective, adjective, adjective.

And to make it truly a guilty pleasure, I'm partaking in chocolate peanut butter Haagen-Dazs as I type.

Happy Thanksgiving!

During the holidays I especially miss my little brother Andy even though I'm incredibly proud of him for working hard as an LDS missionary in South Korea. Just a few more months till he comes home! I've been watching some of the videos he's sent. Here he is (on the left with the guitar) with his missionary companion at the time performing A-Ha's "Take On Me" at some sort of church function last December.

Libbie Linton at the Provo Theater Company

Note to aspiring musicians: maintain a following of more than 20 people before you name a foundation after yourself, throw a benefit concert featuring yourself, and dubiously claim that "some" proceeds will go to giving "opportunities" to "people." Really.

Sorry. Helping is good. I love everyone. Oh and it wasn't the Libbie Linton Foundation.

The point is, someone had the good sense to feature her at this show last Saturday to raise money for a good cause. Because it might have been a long time before I got this video of her cover of Erasure's "A Little Respect" (a song I had stuck in my head my entire sophomore year of college, no joke).

See Libbie play a free concert in the park this Saturday in Smithfield, Utah, 7pm at Central Park.

Today's post is brought to you by my new external hard drive, now allowing my music collection to grow without bounds and without slowing my compy. And by those friends who foster the growth of said collection, like Timmy who gave me this cover of OMD by The Faint. While we wait for The Faint to finish their new album, see a live video of one of the new songs here.

This brings to mind another Hiroshima related cover (which I once tried to learn because of a boy).
