So I have this friend. She's one of the smartest people I know. She's also funny and has a very interesting life. She would keep a killer blog, except having a blog would be totally against her nature. Even if all she did was watch tv all day and she blogged about it, I would totally read it. But she actually does interesting things and knows interesting people. Like, she gets to go to court to see a certain British author of children's books about magic. And she has this acquaintance who is apparently, how to put this, not the kind of person I would want to be friends with, but he also happens to write music. Like that one Kelly Clarkson song you secretly love? He wrote it. Or that one Avril Lavigne song that got remixed with Lil Mama? He wrote it. And remixed it. The other day my brother told me about a Sugababes song he heard in Korea that he's now obsessed with. Yup, he wrote that too. He's even written for Lady Sovereign. And if my friend kept a blog she could tell you all the stories about him and everyone else she meets. But that will never happen.

I'm a total stranger but I had to comment on this one. I was reading it and thought to myself, hey, I think I know the guy who writes music that she's talking about. When I say I know him, I mean that his girlfriend (if they're still together) is my uncles girlfriends daughter. I must say that I was a little bummed when he didn't join us for Thanksgiving dinner. The Japanese version of that Avril Lavigne song is one of my favorites. I would totally read your friends blog too. I love that stuff.

Can I just tell you that I love your blog? You have introduced me to some amazing music and I pretty much think you're a musical genius. Thanks!!!

I do indeed know your friend. She's great! She's actually responsible for my favorite part of the aforementioned Thanksgiving feast...a rice crispy treat turkey. It was incredible.

What a small world we live in!
