I Cut Like A Buffalo
Directed by Jack White
For a second this makes me want to watch "Help!" and then for a second Jack reminds me of Weird Al Yankovic.

Some of my friends made this thing that they worked so hard on and we waited so long for and now it's finally here and ready for you to see.
(I sort of consulted on the music for the trailer. Apparently I'm into darker things, but that's as close as I'll ever get to my dream job of doing music for movies. Unless.)
I am dying just watching the promo videos. Like when Jeru tries to style Mike White like a fundy, or when Sam Rockwell gives her a hard time for eating a lot (as if).
Broncos is out now in several major cities and more next week, check for times and get yourself there asap.

Haven't heard of it? It's the next dessert trend. Invented by this 6 year old who happens to be my cousin and who should be famous and adored all over the world one day, along with the rest of his talented siblings.

Saw The Dead Weather last night. Twas the best show of the year at least. Jack and Alison are archetypal rock stars. I can't get enough. I have to clip my ipod to my underwears because I don't wanna stop hearing it just because I have to put my jimjams on. (The only working ipod doesn't plug into a stereo here.) When customers leave the shop I quick plug it in. There's a new plan to woo Jack with a De Stijl quilt. That's right, get ready. As per my new policy of not taking photos at shows (distracting and inevitably disappointing), I have no photos. This is better anyways.

YES! Glasvegas are coming to SLC on their tour. This year was looking pretty meager but finally some good shows are trickling into Utah.
Glasvegas played Letterman recently and I was getting such a Joe Strummer vibe from James Allan.

Can you believe the opportunities that come about in Preston? Tonight we went to the concert of a master yodeler. He accompanies himself on the accordian, plays the zither and the alphorn, and can play the mouth trumpet and yodel at the same time. My mom bought 4 of his cds and now we are going to learn to yodel. Aunt Stacie already knows how. She's so cool.
Oh his name is Kerry Christensen. And it's all because he served an LDS mission in Austria.
Plus, how is yodeling a European thing and a country-western thing?

Sometimes I forget to check my MTM email and it piles up. Some attention-worthy things I culled from the droves today:

When I get something heavy on the brain, giving it to you is my attempt at purging it. Recently this scene from the movie Teen Witch, an old Disney Channel staple, keeps creeping into consciousness. Everything reminds me of it, and I find myself bringing it up in conversation all the time but it doesn't always go over well because usually nobody knows what I'm talking about, so I have to reenact it, and that is just not the same. This is one of the most memorable scenes from a movie ever. It defines sadcore. I love it. Please watch it and then we can all have an unspoken understanding of it's power and I'll never have to try to put it into words again.
What's more, Teen Witch is now a musical. Oh dear.

I was months behind on Lost, Grey's Anatomy, and Gossip Girl, but when you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything. Now that I'm all caught up, I can devote myself to So You Think You Can Dance. Does this show make everyone wonder if they should have been a dancer, or just me?
Here be my favorite choreography of last night, to Hot Chip no less.
(scroll forward to the dance itself at 2:30 if you wish)

Who is this new coif-wild choreographer Sonya Tayeh?
SYTYCD, bring her back again!
But I can't help but wish Kourtni had danced this with Mark. He's my number 1. When asked what his favorite dance moments from movies, TV and/or stage are, his response is "2 words 'The Frug'......GENIUS!" Och. Good Answer.

The cool thing about this season is that I love almost everyone. Except Chris. That manchild has GOT to go. Oh and Chelsea Hightower. Blech.

Do you remember this video? I think it was my junior year of high school and I was OBSESSED. I recorded it off the tv and watched it over and over and I'm pretty sure I still have that VHS tape in a box.

Gave my lil sissy an impromptu haircut last night. There wasn't really a plan but once we decided we were done, it reminded me an awful lot of that chick in the video for "My Friend Dario." I think it turned out pretty rad.

You sort of remind me of Whitney on The Hills (the only good part of that show). Except you can sing and dance. Please keep making bonkers but brilliant videos. Also, I love your huge pants. Bowery Ballroom, here I come.

Here's the first of a little catchup on some of the media that has been rolling around here. Niall told me I had to watch American Movie and I finally got around to it. It's a documentary about a geeky dirty midwestern guy Mark trying to make independent films. I think he thought I would think it was hilarious, but I was all choked up at the end. Ok there are definitely hilarious moments like when Uncle Bill recites love poetry, "I'll visit your grave every day. Well not every day but I'll visit it sometimes if I ever find it." I was all prepared to be laughing at people taking themselves too seriously, but Mark is kinda my hero. Here's why.
1 - He works in a cemetery.
2 - His movie-making skills aren't actually horrible. I dig the old school look.
3 - Sadcore glasses.
4 - He goes against the stereotype his appearance elicits--he's gentle and is so good to his uncle, children, and friends.
5 - He is excited about life. He's not afraid to fail. I wish I had more of that. I think about my friends with great talent and potential who could do or create amazing things but for whatever reason don't take the leap. I wish we would all just go for it like Mark does.
